Richard Atkinson’s has concentrated his career in the travel industry. Starting out as a resort rep for Eurocamp in the 1970s, he became Chief Executive of Holidaybreak plc, a quoted tour operating business which reached a market capitalisation of over £300m and entered the FTSE-350 index. Previously he led a management buy-out and headed up the stockmarket flotation, as well as acquiring numerous travel businesses in the UK and Europe. Since retiring from Holidaybreak, Richard has advised owner managed travel companies on strategy and sale. Clients have included Expedia, Barclays Capital, Rainbow Tours, Edwin Doran Travel, Brightwater Holidays and Ski Safari. Richard is a non-executive director of Heritage Group Travel and has also served on the Board of Serenity Holidays. He is a former Treasurer of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Stewart Lambert trained as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen before moving to a Anite Group plc in a head office role. After joining venture capitalist 3i, he worked in various sectors, investing at all stages of company development, from start up through to MBO and disposal. He defined 3i’s strategy for the travel sector and invested in Travelbag and Allez France. Stewart then joined RSM Tenon, a top ten accounting firm, where he advised on both acquisitions and disposals, including deals involving First Choice and Thomson. He continues to deliver transactions across a range of sectors and was recently voted South of England Dealmaker of the Year . Stewart holds a number of non-executive director appointments, working with company owners to define strategy and increase value, including The Appointment Group and Specialist Tours Limited.
